Postpartum weight

5 weeks postpartum and I made the horrendous mistake of weighing myself. Off to cry.

I was 160 pre baby and now 201 lbs. this is my second baby and I definitely gained more this pregnancy, I also had polyhydramnios. Should I expect to slowly lose more weight or should I start buying new clothes?! Nothing fits obviously.
I do plan to try to workout some when I can but I’ve never worked out much so not sure where to start and I have two under 3 so gotta find the time lol.
The number on the scale doesn’t bug me I guess I just want to be fit and when I put in my BMI it said I was literally obese, I’m 5’7. Off to cry again lol

Buy new clothes. Be kind to yourself, please. When you lose weight you can get more next season (the modern quality of clothes is shitty, so we need something new every season anyway).

Your body didn’t even fully recover yet. Don’t put more stress onto yourself. Be kind, who will if it’s not you?
Start from sleeping whenever you can. Sleep deprivation is very important factor in weight gain and increased appetite dramatically. If sleep is the only thing you can find energy to do - then do sleep only.
