Frozen Breastmilk & Daycare

I’m getting ready to go back to work😭How are you sending your baby to daycare/babysitter with frozen breastmilk. I’m thinking of thawing out at night and dumping it into a mason jar.

Personally I love the mason jar technique, but found that more milk gets wasted that way. I would thaw and put the milk in the bottles that would be needed for that day, or thaw and leave in the bags. Another way would be to see what the daycare prefers too. Each facility is different

@Chelsey makes sense to leave in bags thawed out. Thank you. Will check with daycare.

@Maria best of luck when you return to work! 😊

I keep a bunch of frozen milk there.

@Chelsey thank you. Not looking forward to it at all. Makes me cry and I feel like I’m being forced to go to work and leave my baby. He’s so little still. 4 months almost 5. 😩😭

@Alyson I was thinking of that as well.

@Maria I hear you there. I was forced to return to work 8weeks pp, I have since left that job and now work at a Bakery where I am able to bring my 4 month old almost 5 month old to work with me if child care doesn't line up.

@Chelsey ugh, if I wasn’t getting paid what I am getting paid and all my benefits and my time there I would have quit already.

Depending on the daycare, they may require the milk be in bottles already. Ours at least does.

@Maria I left my previous place of employment due to discrimination and my hours being cut drastically. I do hope when you return that your work place is more welcoming on your return.

@Chelsey I’m sure everyone will be welcoming. I’ve worked in the dept for more than 10yrs. I work in a grocery store in an office and we’ve gotten really close. I doubt that will happen. So sorry to hear about your situation.

@Maria my new work situation is very relaxing and welcoming, so I'm grateful for that. Sounds like your workplace is nice. Best of luck on your return ❤️

@Chelsey life is forcing me to return. My husband can take care of us but I just can’t loose what I’ve worked so hard for. I’ll get free healthcare in 3 yrs… 20 yr anniversary 🥹 been there a while. Just makes me so sad to leave him. No more free boobie 24/7
