Short sleeved bodysuits

Is there any point in buying newborn sizes of these for our October babies? FTM and no idea what I should be buying clothes-wise 🙈

You’d probably be okay without in my opinion (I have a Dec baby), but equally my house is always freezing. Might be worth buying a few, but you’d probably use long sleeves a bit more x

I was told I need to buy short sleeves as an under layer.

Also been told lots to only buy sleep suits as that’s all they wear and easy to change. I have brought a few cardis too

Most common advice for me was layers! Guess it depends on weather

I agree with above just sleep suits and vests at the start, way easier. I probably won't bother with short-sleeve ones. As for sizes maybe have a few newborn but mostly 0-3. Then you can get more smaller ones if you need them, but you might not.

My little girl was a November (2022) baby and for about the first two months she pretty much always wore a short sleeved vest under a baby grow and then a cardigan and/or pram suit on top when outside. It was the comfiest and easiest combo of clothes, we never really had her in all the cute outfits you see as she just wanted to snuggle! Because it was winter, it was good having the short/no sleeved vests to layer under a baby grow I think. Xxx

Just a little tip 😊 get slightly bigger body suits as when babies poop and body suit it just right, it can cause leakages as it pulls nappy too tightly (based on experience haha)

I definitely am as I checked the weather in October last year and it averaged 15 degrees and reached highs of 19 xx

October is still warm and you’ll want to use short sleeve as under layer

I've always used short sleeve vests underneath for mine. (July baby and October baby) I find long sleeve a pain because she sleeves can go wonky! I do have a few long sleeve just incase it's really cold but have always found short sleeve under a babygrow absolutely fine 🙂

I get nearly all my baby clothes from vinted and just search for ‘new with tags’ that way I feel spending a tenner on all the bodysuits for newborn ain’t bad. Nicu always told us it’s one layer more than us and last October I was still in leggins and a dress

How many sleepsuits is a good amount?

Avatar

this is probably a stupid question but when you say ‘vests’ do you mean sleeveless bodysuits? Or literally just a vest without the bum part?

Avatar

Ive got short sleeved vests and then longer sleeved sleepsuits. My room is usually quite warm x

I always went for short sleeve vests under body suits and then a cardigan or coat if going out (Feb baby) x

That's not a stupid question, yes bodysuits some people just call them vests. You can get short-sleeve or full-sleeve ones. October may be ok for short-sleeve under a sleep suit then when it is colder full-sleeve under a sleep suit, maybe with more layers on top.

Definitely not a stupid question lovely. Yes I mean a bodysuit. I've always just used short-sleeved. I find long sleeve a pain under a babygrow. My house is pretty warm and I've had a summer baby and a winter baby and dressed them very similar as newborns xxx
