Possible infected after birth wound
So not to sound to gross. I gave birth a week ago and tore so had to have some stitches put in. I had the normal discomfort the first few days and now it seems like it’s getting worse. It burns when I urinate and the skin in that area is so raw. I’ve been using the peri bottle and when I go to dab it dry it hurts to bad. I don’t know if a stitches tore I can’t tell or I have some kind of infection. I called my OBGYN and they said someone would call me back and it’s Friday so they are only open for half the day. I’m worried if they can’t see me today I’ll have to wait till Monday. This doesn’t seem normal, this is my second birth and I didn’t have this issue the first time. Would I have to go to the ER if they cant see me?

If it doesn’t feel right, be seen at the hospital. I’m from the UK so care is a little different but women can just present at the hospital if they need to be seen. You don’t want an infection taking hold over the weekend!
Yes, I think you have an infection. I had the same issue. I was told to put polisporne on it when I had an infection and to keep dabbing and using the peri bottle. It hurts like a SOB! (Also constipation and hemorrhoids didn't help with the infection.) I knew something was wrong when I had trouble sitting to nurse my newborn.
If you don't get a call back today, try going to the ER tonight and tell them you just gave birth and you think you have an infection. They'll either take you there or send you up to the OB section.

I was told to use tea tree oil in the bath and soak in it, that helped but I was given antibiotics by the doctor too
