Am I a bad mother for leaving my 1 month old to stay with her in-laws once a week. I feel so bad for this and it breaks my heart because I feel so guilty for leaving her alone. Although my in-laws don’t care and would happily take her for the night I just feel so bad like I’m abandoning her. I feel like if i don’t get that little break I’ll just loose my mind. I’m so exhausted (which is expected) and I don’t feel like my self anymore.. I’m scared I’ll get PPD as I’ve previously had mental health issues. I just feel like that break once a week really helps me to organise my self and make my self feel better mentally and physically for my daughter.
Are any other mums out there in a similar situation or have any advice? 💓

This makes you a great mother for recognizing what works best for you and your little one 💕 I get the mum guilt all the time and I think it’s so hard to just overcome but know you’re not alone and I think it’s amazing you recognise what you need to do to make sure you’re ok
thank you for your kind words xx :)

Absolutely not! My daughter is 3 months old now and my partner and I have had 2 nights away from her so far, we have another 2 nights planned for November and I'm sure there'll be more. We love her more than anything but we also recognise that sometimes we need to prioritise ourselves, each other and our relationship! How can we be expected to be the best parents for her if we burn out? Like Emma I think it's great that you're being realistic and proactive, you're doing the best for you and your daughter and I'm not sure how you could ever be called a bad mother for that. If you're fortunate enough to have a village around you, no matter how small, I think it's important to use them. Don't forget the bonds your daughter will be making with her family, she's benefitting from this too!
thank you, means a lot xx

I don’t see anything wrong with it. I know a lot of mom would kill to have a little break. As long as she has caring grandparents then it’s fine because some be shitty ash. Being a mom is hard and sometimes we all need a break
