Hi all! Those of you who are due around Christmas, are you making any plans for how you will celebrate? I’m due 29 Dec, my family live abroad and my husbands family live almost 4h away so it’s probably going to be just the two of us! Not sure I’ll be up for making a Christmas meal… what are you all thinking? Book a table in a pub? Ready made meal to reheat? Got family close by to visit?

I’m due on the 7th of December and me and my husband have had this conversation. I think it’s difficult with all the family wanting to spend Christmas with the brand new addition but I don’t want to be put under any pressure to go anywhere, people come over. I don’t know if I’m being selfish but I feel like we need a few days or weeks to adjust (this is our first) especially if he arrives late. For us I think it’s a takeaway and Xmas is cancelled just for this year x

We agreed there’s no point stressing over making plans - we thought about booking somewhere but if baby is only a few days old we might not feel up to it. Agreed to do a low key dinner (more like a Sunday roast) just us and I’m really looking forward to it! Either way a nice chill last Christmas just us two, or we can take all the time we need with little one 🥰 our families live away too x

I'm due end if November and I've told our family we will be staying home. They can visit if they wish but we won't be going anywhere 😀 I'll probably do a small dinner for us.

I’m due 21st December and we’ve discussed being induced week before with my consultant. Either way my husband and I are planning Christmas at home just us and baby. A duvet day - will be doing a chicken in the bag or something easy.
I’ve said to family depending on how we all are feeling will depend on if we have visitors on the day. Won’t know until nearer the time so I’m not putting pressure on it. Xx

I’m due 14th December so hoping I’ll have baby before but who knows!
My mother in law has offered to have my mum and sister round so that we can go there and all be with the baby. We will just take the day as it comes, go round when we are ready and leave when we need to.
I am nervous that I may be in hospital or still pregnant! Hopefully baby comes on time and we can be that little bit more adjusted.
Christmas just you two sounds lovely, I’d say order a takeaway or go out, no need to cook! ❤️

I’m due 18th december and we’ve said we’re not going to stress about anything this year and just take it as it comes! If baby comes on time we just want to spend time as a family together rather than have people over straight away so it gives us time to adjust as a new family of 4 so we will stay at home and have our first christmas as a whole family rather than with immediate family members but we’ve said if she decides to come late then we might just have a sunday roast type meal and just relax and soak up the last days with our first child until the new addition arrives so at least he still gets to have a very fun christmas but depending on how i feel we may go and see immediate family close by as most of our family members live far away x🥰

My baby is coming via c-section on 23rd Dec 😬 so I should be home on Christmas Eve.
My parents are staying for a few days to look after my toddler while I'm in hospital. Mum has already started planning her mini Christmas lunch, which she'll make for us, at my house 🥰
She's a gem 💎 ✨️

I’m also due the 29th I’m planning on travelling two hours on Christmas Eve to spend Christmas Day with my husbands dad and step mum. I won’t have to do as much if I go elsewhere as I’ll get help with my toddler 🙈I’ve planned out the nearest hospital just incase I do go into labour while there x

Due 21st and we live in Scotland all my family are in London and I’m unsure if anyone will join for Christmas 🫤 to be honest at the moment our issue is more who will help with our (will be) 15 month old when I go into labour as we have no one up here! 😬

I’m due on the 19th (and a solo mum) and I’ve told my family to make their plans without me, and I’ll pop in if I can but that my plan is just to be in the bubble at that stage. Whilst the rosy pic of family together is nice I feel like the reality will be pure stress!

@Jasmine no family will come for a few days and help when you go Into labour? Could you get in touch with some child minders and start building a relationship with them so maybe they'll be on hand to help with your child.

I was due December 25th baby came on the 20th. I had a chill Xmas day didn't bother with a dinner but it didn't feel right so we had our Xmas on boxing day and I did a freezer Xmas dinner lol. Cook from Frozen turkey crown from Iceland. Frozen veg, Yorkies, roaties and stuffing . Instant mash and gravy 🤣🤣

This yeah I'm pretty sure she will be here about a month before Xmas so will.probabmy go to the in-laws for dinner

I’m due December 5th and I’ll be going to my mums. That way I don’t have to cook and can just sit and bond with baby and not lift a finger 😂 our family is small and I won’t have to put on appearances

We are going to stay at home in our bubble and probably order a Chinese😂 very very different to your traditional Christmas but I don’t think we will feel up to cooking or going out as planned and we have a toddler who will be 18 months old then too so the less stress, the better🥹 xx

my mum probably would, I know it sounds mad but I feel bad dividing everyone over Christmas 😕 I would love to have everyone up however my sisters partner can’t travel so there’s the issue. But yes will have to make some kind of plan soon. Originally was going to be a planned section however now maybe not, so waiting for spontaneous labour makes things trickier doesn’t it xx

I’m due 9th but we have our c-section planned for the 3rd, so baby will be 3 weeks old come Christmas Day. All my family are away for actual Christmas and we were meant to go to my in-laws but that’s already difficult with our LG because there isn’t enough room for us all round the table. Initially we’d planned to host dinner but when I found out we were expecting I told my husband that we are staying home, the 4 of us and I will order an M&S Christmas lunch so it all just has to go into the oven. The in-laws are welcome to come over and visit but I draw the line at making dinner for everyone. We haven’t told them this yet but I don’t think my MIL will mind, she’s always said for us to do whatever we want to on Christmas and that she has no expectations, so I’m hoping they don’t magically start this year 😂 x

@Jasmine yes not only after my sons failed induction but also for the ease of childcare are the reasons I am opting for c section this time. We can plan much better with someone having our son etc. I'm sure given the situation your sister won't mind. All make up for it next Christmas 😀 good luck xx

We always host for 10+ people, I’m due 19th but having a section at 37 weeks so will be end of nov but I have said if everyone still wants to come to ours then my mum and MIL will be in charge of cooking 😂 everyone will be in charge of a side dish each to make Xmas eve and bring with them xx

I’m due the 23rd so I’m not making any plans 😂 I’m more than likely going to be overdue and miserable or in hospital.

Due 15th December and my parents will be coming up over Christmas week (obviously no guarantees on when baby will actually make their appearance!) We talked about my mum and dad doing us a bit of a dinner but essentially postponing ‘family Christmas’ - with my brother, SIL and nephew - to the month after. I think in that newborn bubble time will feel unusual anyway so Christmas can wait!

Making ‘loose’ plans, due 22nd. My older kids want a delayed Christmas if I’m in hospital (I usually make our Christmas dinner anyway). But the traditions will go ahead if not. The only thing I’m not doing is booking the panto on Christmas Eve! X

My plans are no plans this year 😂. I’m due 15 December and my family are situated in the North so we certainly won’t be travelling. I’ve basically said don’t plan anything around us, we will play it by ear. We might go up after Christmas so the family can meet her if I’m feeling up to it otherwise they can come down to us when she’s a few weeks old. My husband has a crazy busy job (I’m talking 9am -2am!) so I feel like those paternity leave weeks will be really precious to us and we’d like to navigating as a little family first x

Due on the 11th Dec, we are planning a very quiet relaxed Christmas at home, family can call in briefly if they want to visit but we will be resting & recouping. My sister has offered to deliver a meal to us 🥳 hopefully baby boy is prompt and I don’t go over!

I’m due 14th December, luckily my mum lives down the road and will be making Christmas lunch so me and the kids will go down there after present in the morning. It will be my first Christmas morning waking up alone with just the kids 🙈 so we’ll do Santa presents and get ready and go to my mums and see family there for a few hours and then probably come home as we will all be exhausted, I’ll have a nearly 4 y/o, 21 month old and possibly around a 10 day old x

I’m due on the 4th dec but I also had a baby in 2022 who was born on the 11th December! We stayed home on our own with our newborn but I prepped all the Xmas dinner sides in advance and froze them (who knew you could freeze prepped roasties?!) and then chucked everything in the oven with a chicken on the day. Was a nice low key way of having a Xmas meal just the 3 of us without much effort if you’re keen to still have the meal. Equally going to the pub sounds nice (and less washing up!)

I'm due Xmas eve but should have my elective section around 17th-ish, I had to spend a couple days in hospital when I had my daughter, so it's looking like a very quiet & different Xmas this year but I'm all for it. I'll still be pretty sore, on blood thinners, so going to enjoy a baby bubble we never really had with my first. Likely a Chinese for dinner & just being all about making my daughter have the best day x

My baby is due on the 18th. If all goes to plan, my mum said she will cook Christmas Dinner at our house and the family will come to visit - it may well be the first time they get to meet the baby 🤍 We won’t be travelling anywhere x

I’m due 28th December 💕

I’m due Christmas Eve but I expect to be induced a couple days prior but I’ve already informed my family I won’t be going over for Christmas Day as we normally all gather at my parents (15 in total) and possibly the same on the 27th which is my dads bday we go over for dinner. Want to take time just our family for a while before rush of all the family
