Oh goodness, thanks for your insight! I wish more people talked about this and had better guidelines. Was it a pelvic floor PT who gave instructions for the scar tissue work or was it the OB?
You can always call and request that you are seen soon, at the 3 week mark rather than 6. With a fourth degree tear you definitely want them to be on it to monitor everything and make sure no problems develop. There is a few issues from fourth degree tears that you want to keep in eye on. ❤️🩹 Pelvic floor therapy has been a huge help with scar tissue and mobility. They will help give exercises that are gentle enough and efficient.
I started physical therapy at about 5 weeks postpartum and am still going 7 months out
At 3 weeks I didn’t do any exercise I was told don’t do anything until 12 weeks
Also- I was seen every week by a urogynacologist to assess how it’s healing etc. Have you seen one yet? Message me if needed
Girlll I got very close to a 3 rd degree tear… still a second degree tear … I’m 6 months down the road and I’m barely starting to feel normal (a lot of discomfort but not ripping pain anymore). Scar tissue is absolutely terrible, I still take fiber/miralax or I WILL absolutely bleed ( not worth it) I even have been doing “scar tissue work” to help. I know you have a WAY longer road with that tear, praying for you ❤️ Also I didn’t start regular wiping until I could touch the area. Part of the “scar tissue work” was to work on touching the area, and I started working on that at about 8 weeks , my stitches had already dissolved at that point
