What can I put on the walls to stop the bed touching it?

I co sleep and due to my son being more active in his sleep and a dare devil when awake I’m going to have to push my bed up to the wall. The thing is, my bedroom is prone to mould so I don’t want the bed touching the direct wall because if it does go mouldy it will get the bed mouldy too.

I have looked at upholstered panels for the walls but I’ll have to spend over £200 just to cover anywhere the bed will touch!

I will have a surveyor come out to assess the mould and the last thing I need is them saying they will have to strip the walls bare and treat it after I forked up that money on panels.

What other options are there?

I was thinking of using them foam mats you put on the floor that interlock… I’d use glue to stick it to the walls and it would be inexpensive but are there any other suggestions?

Can you cut a pool noodle in half or even just shove a whole one between the bed and the wall?

a noodle? But then the covers and pillows and stuff will lean on the wall also, my son will also roll over in his sleep and hit the wall🤦🏽‍♀️

Get a floor bed

Get a bed rail on Amazon, it’s like £20

Bit random but I bought a sun lounger cushion in a matching colour to the curtains and screwed it to the wall. You could also use double sided tape to secure it but my toddler kept pulling that off

It would be safer to just use a bed rail rather than push the bed up against the wall which poses an entrapment risk. They also have inflatable bumpers that would go under the fitted sheet.

so the bed rail is part of the problem, my son threw himself over it and hit his head on the wood/glass bedside cabinet on the way to the floor which is why I’m needing to push the bed to the wall, it’s easier monitoring one side but not both.. and this is why a bed rail is not “safer”, the fall to the ground is worse over a bed rail than from just the bed. I use very plump cushions to keep him in bed when asleep and he still rolls over them or sleep crawls so the bed has to be up against the wall and my bed is so heavy and solid it doesn’t move so no chance of entrapment.

do you have any pics? Does it cover the whole length of the bed and or the whole area the mattress is and a little more to prevent bumps?
