Hi, I’m having a bit of difficult time. I recently got arrested before my lo birthday for being in charge of a minor while under the influence of alcohol. I got into a taxi to go home and the taxi driver ended up taking me to the police station. It was a one off and my family were going to look after my lo that day while I go away with friends. Anyway after being put away I got interviewed and the police have referred my case to social services. I’ve been put on bail while this process takes place and can’t have my lo unsupervised. I’m normally quite good with my little one and just got really emotional and drunk around this time but she is loved. I do suffer with adhd and depression and anxiety and did have a difficult time when her dad left us. Doing it all on my own can be really difficult but I will never hurt or harm my baby. I’m just wondering what I can expect from social services and the police? Anyone been through anything similar?

You will most likely be placed on services. Parenting classes, drug and alcohol classes, have to get a job if you don't have one, drug and alcohol testing ect. They will probably drop charges when you finish your services. This can take 3 months to a 1 depending on how seriously you take this. Sometimes this isn't always a bad thing as they can introduce you to many more services to help you and your child get back on your feet. Take it as an opportunity and a blessing. It sucks but it'll help you in the long run.

Can you explain more the context behind what happened when you were arrested?
