My twins just turned 3 months today š„ŗš«¶š¼. I had everything before they was here. A place to live and my car. I was going through a program that pays the rent when you fall on hard times because i couldnāt work my pregnancy with twins. But the property was requiring me to pay 2k before the assistance was accepted but i couldnāt do because clearly i havenāt been working. So they eventually evicted me because they added more rules at the last minute and wouldnāt accept my assistance program. And then 3 days later someone stole my car and crashed it. I feel so hopeless i work for the government as a postal worker im not no slouch so for this to happen to me has me feeling the lowest of the low. I canāt even qualify for any more housing because they arenāt accepting my pay checks from the last time i worked in March and now this eviction thatās against me. And with postpartum makes everything more unbearable. I live with my mom but itās no room in her house and i just donāt wanna be there.

That doesn't sound legal. I'd look into that for sure. That's the whole point of assistance. They can't say you have to pay us 2000 in order for us to accept that insurance. It sounds like they were trying to get paid twice

What about disability. Can a doc write that you couldn't work and you get paid disability? That's what I did here in California. You could get back pay if the doc agrees and the state has that set up. I know if it's different in different places.
what type of disability would it be under ?
exactly what i thought the assistance was for but no they was requesting tht i pay some of the balance before they accepted the payment from the assistance which is unfortunate and idek who i would report this kind of stuff too. But the program offered to pay 3 months of putting me into a new place but I canāt get approved anywhere now because my last pay checks are more then 120 days old the whole situation just frustrating.

Well did the doctor put you on bedrest? And tell you that you shouldn't go to work? You can message me if it is easier. I have helped a few moms on here. But for me. My baby was born in June. In Feb my doc said I need to take it easy. My job running a 2 mil store can be stressful so I asked them since they said to take it easy can I have them sign my paperwork for disability leave. They agreed and filled it out online. If it is an office that hasn't caught up with times then you can hand them paperwork that EDD will send you. They will fill out when you started to see them, when leave should have started. There is a set time frame for after baby is born that you'll be paid till. After that hopefully your state or employer has some type of mat leave or paid family leave. Which should be taken once disability is done. Disability should pay out up to 70% of what you make. With that you can get medical, WIC and food stamps usually.

Also for the assistance thing. Tell them you work for some mom and pop place and that you can have them sign something for you for them. When I worked at a bar many years ago. My boss told me to fill it out for her and sign it for her. She didn't care and some places will accept that.
