Positive induction stories 💕

I was induced with the hormone drip after my waters broke and labour failed to progress. I was really anxious about it because I was hoping for a natural water birth. They wouldn’t let me use the pool, but I was still able to have a calm, positive hypno birthing experience. I used a TENS machine and gas and air for the contractions and it really wasn’t that bad at all. 12 hour labour from drip to baby. You got this mama! 💪

Advice would be take it as it comes. Remember to breathe and know you can do this xx

I was induced at 39+3.
Went in the day before, lots of waiting around and when they went to put the gel pessary in I was already 2cm so they didn’t use it. I waited most of the night in hospital and then went up at 3:35 to my delivery room.
My waters were broken at 4:42 and contractions started quickly for me, I didn’t use any pain relief. Everything happened very fast and she was born at 8:34. So less than 4 hours later! Both very healthy, not much bleeding. She was perfect when she came out. Amazing experience.
Just trust yourself and your instincts and regardless of what the drs recommend (pain relief, different forms of induction, hormone drip) listen to yourself and if you disagree with them you speak up! Very best of luck to you x

I had a very positive induction last year. Low risk pregnancy but went 5 days past 40 weeks. I only needed pitocin since i was already dialated a little. Felt no pain at all until the Dr broke my water. They say the contracrions come on strong and consistent with pitocin, but i got the epidural before they came on strong. Getting the epidural wasn't as scary or painful as i thought it would be. 3 hours later i pushed twice and he was out.

I had an induction as my baby boy didn’t want to leave his home 🥰 I was induced with the tablet and it was super intense at one part I didn’t think I was going to make it but the midwives were amazing! They guided me and brought me back around and I was in active labour for 6 hours and delivered within 20 mins of pushing completely natural with no tears! I went from 2cm dilated to 10cm within 7 minutes and would do it all again!!

Positive induction here too! Had the pessary until I was dilated enough, broke my waters, nothing happened so ended up on the hormone drip. I took an epidural which was the best decision for me. It was a very calm and relaxed birth. No further intervention was needed and baby girl came out after about 5-10 mins of pushing. You've got this!! My only advice is just to be prepared to wait around for a while. It is a bit of a conveyor belt of inductions......so if they are busy they will hold off taking you in etc xx

Hey, I would say, have a plan, a back up plan and some absolute no’s. So my plan was to have a water birth in the birthing centre, but if that didn’t pan out, for whatever reason, my back up plan was:
Stage 1: Gas and air if needed
Stage 2: Epidural if needed
Stage 3: C-Section if needed in an emergency, and over tools to help get baby out vaginally, as that tools such as forceps etc was personally my absolute no.

My labour turned out to be exactly my back up plan and I was actually okay with it, because when we went down a path that wasn’t in my original birthing plan, my husband would reassure me by telling me not to worry and reminding me that this was the plan. I can’t tell you how much that supported me during labour as it made me feel a bit more in control.

Enjoy it, take a comb (really helped me!) and try to relax. Wish I could do it all over again because it was such a lovely experience meeting my son for the first time!

I was induced last August and it was such a great experience. We started the Pitocin at 5am had to get my daughter to move due to her being posterior and my water broke around 4 and for me thats when the contractions got really unbearable. I got the epidural and went from 6-10 and pushed baby in four hours and hour and 45 of which was pushing due to her being posterior. Overall it was a great experience and the staff didn’t try to push anything and only upped my dosage when I said it was okay

Hi! I was induced with my first and it wasn’t exactly planned. I had a sweep at 39+6 and stopped feeling movements the next day, went in for monitoring where it was decided it was better to get him out. I was already 3-4cm so I was started on pitocin. I was also offered an epidural before the pitocin (I can’t tell you how that went tbh). From start of pitocin to baby in my arms was just under 4hrs. We did have other interventions (AROM, episiotomy, forceps & vac - both tried twice and failed) but my boy was sunny side up. I cannot fault the induction and was well informed the entire time. Yes it was scary for me at the time but I know it was the right choice for us

Mine was great but it was bc I took an epidural after 😂

I went into hospital to have my baby. I didn’t want to be started on any hormones. They artificially broke my waters and I told them I wanted to wait and see if that prompted baby. It took some time but I stuck to my guns and eventually the contractions came on their own and I got to have my water birth

Mine was good. I was induced a month early because of preeclampsia and low birth weight for the baby. The only thing that hurt was inserting the balloon to open the cervix (they don't do this with everyone). I slept through most of it. Once I started contractions, I got an epidural. It helped a lot. I didn't have a lot of pain getting to 10cm because of the epidural, then I was actively pushing for 30-40 minutes until she popped out. It was a very easy induction and delivery.
