Hey all, just wondering if anyone knows whether I should contact midwife or GP if I want my iron levels checked? Had my whooping cough jab today and when the nurse asked how I was and I said so tired she wondered if they had checked me for anemia yet. They haven’t and now I’m anxious about it as I am so tired it often reduces me to tears and completely ruins my evenings! Wanna chase this up tomorrow but not sure who to contact first

I would say GP, I've recently had a blood test to check my levels and was done at GP, waiting on results now.

But you need a full blood panel not just iron, there's other deficiencies that can make you tired!

I've asked my GP for a full blood panel test as I was really tired and dizzy. They found I was low in folate, which I have meds for now and feel much better.

At my 16 week midwife I asked for my iron levels to be checked because I’m always so tired, so either ask the midwifes or call your gp x

Were they checked recently? I would have thought midwife could do it. Did you contact your drs? I recently went to mine for same thing and it was b12 deficiency xx
got a full blood test with GP in the end and even though my ferritin, haemoglobin, haematocrit and RBC were all very low apparently that’s normal in pregnancy so they did nothing so I’ve started spatone myself and it’s helping :)

Aw I feel drs just completely fob you off when you’re pregnant. Midwives gave me iron tablets for low ferritin xx
yeah have defo learnt to go to them now!

I got my bloods done recently for a rash that’s spread on my body and 3 things came back abnormal and they’ve said it’s normal in pregnancy 🤣 I often wonder the outcomes if you didn’t tell them you were pregnant lol xx
it is mad I swear if you said your foot was falling off they’d say that was common in our condition 🤦♀️
