This is my first pregnancy I am 19 weeks, and lately I have been experiencing like numbness in my left hand when I sleep. First it was only on my left hand if I laid on my left side, which you’re supposed to… so that’s what I’ve been trying to do…. But now it’s gotten worse … to the point that it seems to go numb no matter what position I am in…. And it’s become painful enough that it wakes me up and I can’t sleep. And now it’s happening in my right hand too, and not just when I sleep but I was laying in my hammock today and both hands’ fingers started to fall asleep. It’s like the tingly feeling when it falls asleep and then pins and needles and the longer it goes on… the more painful it gets….
Is this a normal pregnancy symptom or is this something I should be worried about and call my doctor?

I had carpel tunnel going into my 2nd trimester! it goes away!

Carpel tunnel?

oh no…. What did they say?

I’m sorry your experiencing that but buckle up and get some wrist guards it’s the only thing that helps. mine started at 30 weeks I’m at 39 now and still have numb fingers

I had this. My whole left arm would go numb when I’d lay on my right side and it would wake me up. I’m 2 months pp and my left pinky was numb for hours the other day.

Yeah, had it most of my pregnancy. They said it was normal

I have this at the moment in both hands too! It is carpel tunnel. My Dr recommended using wrist splints at nighttime to help with the pain, and it has worked wonders. I still can't feel my hands, but I'm no longer woken up from the pain in my hands. I also got given different exercises to do, to try and help. It's not a nice feeling and I hope you are able to find a way to manage it.

Oh my gosh I’m
So glad I’m not the only one!!! I thought I was dying haha

I've been experiencing this for weeks

I guess it’s time for all of us to get some wrist splints!
