Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
-Proverbs

Don Lemon is not a Christian. Hope that helps!

The Bible says to fear God, so ain’t no way I’m listening to anyone who’s saying the opposite. 😂
Probably my favorite quote regarding this:
““I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.”
Luke 12:4-5 NIV

Ecclesiastes 12:13
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.”
he claimed he was until I heard him talk and I was baffled😳at that specific comment

As others have said, he is not a Christian. Another way we can know is because he does not believe Jesus was without sin, and without a sinless Savior we cannot be saved.
But, fear doesn't have to mean shaking-in-your-boots terrified. The words used for fear can mean that, but they can also mean "to reverence, venerate, to treat with deference or reverential obedience" and "revere".(Blue Letter Bible app)
Anyone who is living in sin should fear - be afraid of - God. But those who are in Christ do not need to be terrified, as we are covered by the Blood of Jesus. We do, however, need to "reverence, venerate, to treat with deference or reverential obedience" Him.
His statement is a very foolish one. Everyone needs to feat God. But the way in which we fear Him, I believe, should change as we walk with Him.

You should not be taking Christian advice from either of the two.
can I ask why you think not from her as well?

This is from Ecclesiastes 12
11 The words of the wise are like [prodding] goads, and these collected sayings are [firmly fixed in the mind] like well-driven nails; [b]they are given by one Shepherd. 12 But beyond this my son, [about going further than the words given by one Shepherd], be warned: the writing of many books is endless [so do not believe everything you read], and excessive study and devotion to books is wearying to the body.
13 When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is almighty God] and keep His commandments, for this applies to every person. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, every hidden and secret thing, whether it is good or evil.
Don't look to other people's opinions in books & ect, instead ask God to reveal all things to you in His word (as you have done).

I’ve been wanting to watch that full interview, it looks good. Funny enough, before I was Christian I heard my mom say this and thought??? You shouldn’t fear God, but after now I understand. I’m still in the beginning of my faith journey, but know that he is all powerful.
