I have a 9 inch baking dish but this calls for a pie pan?

Can I just do it or do I need to buy the pie dish??

I don’t even have a pie tin I make all my shepherds pies and apple pies in my carbon steel frying pan or cast iron pan😂 use whatever you have that fits and is oven-proof. Just watch the times because the material/thickness is different. A pie tin is much thinner than a baking dish
