I feel really lost on what to do tbh. I'm due to be moving in with my partner in the next couple of weeks. We have a 6 month old boy together. I'm so conflicted on what is the best thing for my little boy. My partner has his own house which is built in his parents back garden. His parents aren't bad people but their family dynamic is so strange. They do nothing but belittle and criticise each other and only seem to think of themselves. When i try to speak to my partner about his family im just "slagging them off" My partner is a full blown mummy's boy who seems to be scared of standing up to her. I've told my partner that I don't want his elderly parents looking after my son unsupervised as they both have ill health and have put him at danger a couple of times by leaving him on a chair unattended when he can't even sit up by himself and suggesting we do things like prop his bottle with a pillow and put him in his chair on the dining room table! I witnessed them all occasions I have witnessed this. And myself, partner and mil went for a walk with mil pushing pram where she tried to ram it up the curb ( right near a busy road) and didn't have the sense to look for a flat curb to go up without being told to do so she then crashed it into a bollard. My partner is incapable of seeing any harm in this. My partner has witnessed these and says nothing Yet has no problem letting his mum criticise me over stupid stuff like what formula I chose, having a night light and even accusing me off driving illegally when I would never.
I really dont want my boy to turn out like them but again don't want to deprive him of family
