Has anybody else experienced aggression in their dog since having a baby? My baby is 9 weeks old this week and my eldest dog has got so aggressive since having a baby. I don’t know what to do, any advice would be great.
She’s not aggressive towards our baby just me & my husband, if we try to tell her anything she like jumps towards us/growls/bark and you can hear her teeth clamping together, she also bit my husband this week just because he told her to get down off the sofa 🙈 she is a pomapoo for reference

Firstly I’d get the dog checked over by a vet to make sure she’s not in any pain that’s causing the aggression. Next, I’d get a dog behaviourist to work with you. She may be feeling a bit put out - ours was when both babies came along, but eventually warmed to the change. There’s a great Facebook site with brilliant info called Dog Training Advice and Support, read all the info on there about dogs and new babies. Hopefully it’s just a passing phase and nothing more x

How old is your dog?
We had two elderly dogs when our twins were born. They weren’t aggressive but they were very much impacted by the lessening attention, the noise etc.
A vet or behavioral specialist can help you all adjust. We use lots of baby gates to separate the dogs from the kids. Eventually my dogs settled down but they definitely miss the pre kid days.
Thanks so much girls, will definitely get her checked just incase but I think she’s fine just very jealous, especially with my husband as she always slept in our bed and by him but since having the baby she’s been downstairs only because I have a next to me crib and she started going to by his bed and I wasn’t able to sleep/relax. So I think this hasn’t helped the situation but my baby comes first (i love my dogs to bits still ofc)
Will look into a dog behaviourist thank you!!
I have a 5 year old dog & a 4 and a half year old. The youngest has always been more independent but the eldest always wants so much attention which is hard when you have a newborn your priorities change so I definitely agree she is impacted by not having as much attention🥺
