The father of my children and I got into a row. Neither of us were shouting we were just bickering over who said what but he kept walking off and it was really getting to me. I definitely was being bratty and not being my best self, but at a certain point He got up in my face and squeezed my arm really hard. Then when I asked him to let go he squeezed harder. He let go after I asked again. He's never been physical, or given me the impression he could be. To be honest I can't help but feel like I brought it on by having an attitude but at the same time I fear it could be terrible if my daughter ever witnessed something like this. Can things like this just be a one off? and is it actually bad or am I overthinking it?

i know you probably don’t wanna be identified right now but if it’s okay with you could you message me if you’re alright with that

No you didn't deserve that, please don't ever think that.

I don’t care how bratty you were it’s NEVER ok for a man to put his hands on you

You did not deserve it and it's NEVER a one off

Nope, it’s never a one-off. This type of behaviour has always been inside of him, you managed to make his mask slip off is all.
Don’t ever blame yourself! If you stay, mark my words things will only get worse. It’s a downwards hill from now on that Pandora’s box has been opened. If you stay, he knows you’ve accepted the abuse and he has free rein to do worse, later. Time to figure out a plan to leave.

I'm really sorry this happened to you ❤️
Me and my partner get on each other's nerves a lot while fighting and I really push him to his limits at times but he's never laid a hand on me (he even completly destroyed our room one time, but with me gone and the door closed), it's not normal and I don't have experience but I don't think there are one offs x

No that’s not okay no matter what you were saying. He’s a fully grown adult, if he’s feeling angry he can walk away.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate you giving me some clarity on the situation. I'm calling my mum today and planning to leave for my daughter's sake. I don't want her growing up in a house of arguments. ❤️
