Hello and god bless you all everyone, I have recently came back to Christ after falling away from the lord 7 years ago. I’m spending time with god by reading his word, praying & trying to live more Christ like. The doubts that I’m having about god, Jesus & his existence is debilitating me. It makes me cry so much, I’m just full in doubts & I feel so far away from the lord I hate feeling this way. When I pray to god about this I find myself crying. Can anyone share their advice? Anybody that’s been through this? Godbless.

Hi-I have debilitating OCD w/psychosis that primarily attacks God and my faith in God and life from a Christian standpoint. I've been recovering from this for about 6 years now. It's an ongoing process. If you'd like to message, I think we can talk about it in depth, if you'd like. There can be many layers to this issue, and I don't think I'm capable of fully conveying all my thoughts and learned lessons in a few comments! You're not alone🩷
Hi thank you for your reply xx I know where my doubts stem from and that is fear, I too have been diagnosed with OCD.

Okay, that was gonna be the first thing I brought up haha so I'm glad that that's something you already learned about your brain-knowing the theorized structural and chemical difference of OCD brains vs non-OCD brains has definitely helped me cope with the OCD part of relentless doubts. The spiritual part definitely takes ongoing self-reminders and remembrance of Biblical principles and stories. I.E- Mark 9:23-29. We are not alone with our doubts. Rather, God has been longsuffering and merciful towards people with the same issues of fear and doubt since Genesis-a time where He literally spoke directly to man! When He performed miracles in front of their eyes! Jesus Christ spent His time on Earth performing miracles like raising people from the dead and Thomas still had the audacity to doubt Him when He, Himself, rose from the dead! A friend of mine recommended that I start by reading 1 & 2 Timothy, since Timothy was a man who also struggled with fears and doubts.

Lean into those doubts and ask the tough questions. The word of God can withstand scrutiny. His Spirit can reveal to you the answers you need. History, logic, philosophy, and apologetics are at the service of the Almighty! It was through searching for the truth that God showed me who he was and gave me the peace and certainty I needed to rest in him.

Look into Apologetics. It helps strengthen your faith. I would also go on a fast and really pray against unbelief.

One of the ways that God has become more "real" to ppl...or easier to see & understand...honestly, watching The Chosen. Not every detail is from scripture...but most of it is. And sometimes having a visual helps you connect to your feels & gives you something to cling on to when words aren't jumping off the pages of your Bible. Or your brain is just too scrambled to comprehend words. Don't give up on scriptures...but try & add those visuals too.
