There are so many! Won’t be doing one this time but we did NCT previously but mainly because it was in our area and our main aim was about the people meeting as we’d just lived area and all family are back in Australia. So think it depends on your main aims from it. For antenatal education I would argue there are better resources, books etc. that you can do on your own and some hospitals even provide some courses (mostly virtual now) which is great as free and specific to your hospital.
But if you are keen to meet other Mums/Dads and have a network then I do think NCT is the classic choice (is a little pricey) and they have so many locations so can usually get one very close to you. As for the education, it was basic but that’s because I had done a lot of research myself and the prep for actually having a baby, honestly is laughable to the reality but it was fun and good bonding with the other couples.

My tips would be try to get something close, don’t travel too far as it’ll make meeting up with those people harder. You want a network close by and that will go to the same baby groups together etc. if meeting people is one of your aims.
Do a course that is spread out over several sessions if possible. Some of those full day ones are a lot for one day and they are usually rushing to get through the content so less time to actually chat with other couples. If you have a few sessions, more chances to chat with others.
This is if meeting people is a priority.
If it’s for the education then it would matter less about where and could also find something more cost effective as NCT is a little pricier. But again education wise lots of other resources too…. Midwife Pip has a great podcast & insta and recently put out a book so would suggest that. She has a course but it’s very 1:1 so costly.

thank you so much for your input it’s really really helpful!❤️
