SMA anti reflux milk HELP!

I’ve recently changed my baby to SMA anti reflux alongside breastfeeding and when I am making it with “lukewarm” water it’s going really clumpy. I’ve gone up a teat size but when she gets to the end of the bottle it starts blocking the teat and when I go to wash the bottles there is literally like 50p size blobs of formula clumps?! Should I use room temp water or am I doing something wrong??

The temperature ideally should be about 60-70°c to minimise clumping. It's quite temperamental tbh. We use a flask for our hot water but throughout the day as the water naturally cooled, we noticed when making bottles the formula would clump more.

You also need to shake the formula quite vigorously.

Room temperature water won't kill bacteria in formula . So I would make it with 60-70°c temp and then cool the bottle in a cup of cold water until it's at a temperature you're happy with.

this formula cannot use boiling water and specifically says use luckwarm water due to the thickener in it xx

Yeah the water I used wasn't boiling straight from a kettle, but boiled , left for 20 mins until about 70 degrees then poured into a flask. Throughout the day it naturally gets a little cooler as it's just in a flask. That's what I used when making this formula and it was fine. It's generally a clumpy formula anyway but I didn't have too many clumps doing it this way. X

We have been on this milk for 5 months- he is 7 months and I use kettle water 70-80° everytime, sometimes even fully boiled if I walk out the room for any reason. We’ve never had any problems with using the hotter water whereas lukewarm will create clumps easier. We use a nuby to make it because of the clumps and shake super hard then when cooled allow to settle for air bubbles/ anti colic bottles.
