Anyone else's toddler climbing out of their crib? Woke up to him standing next to my bed this morning and now brainstorming what to do. We tried the floor bed a few months back and it went horrible. Also tried the net in the crib and it freaked him out. He's also started to want his door open during naps/bed time ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

is that really crazy though? He’s starting to get more aware of his surroundings and he genuinely doesn’t want to feel alone.

sorry, I wish I could be more helpful but my baby has never slept a day in her crib and she’s almost two. I’ll give her another year or so.

no it makes sense because the door being opened only happened after we welcomed a baby into the family so I think that need to still feel attached.

My son started climbing out months ago. Could not nap or sleep in the crib. Not fun at all. We finally just bought him a nice comfy futon. Baby proofed the room completely and just closed the door so he could at least have "quiet time" during his nap hours.
He still comes into our room in the middle of the night occasionally, but now its finally to the point where if I put him back he doesn't try to follow me again. Maybe you could try the floor bed again after a while. Good luck though

Ours had a changing table connected to the crib and he climbed on there one time and I said it was time for a big boy bed.

thanks. Hopefully it works this go around.

did he transition well? When we tried it went so horrible that we went back into the crib.

I eventually just bought a nice toddler sized bed. It has a little rail on both sides and is pushed up against a wall so I don’t have to worry about her falling out. We close the door and leave her in the room alone because if I lay with her she thinks we are playing. She usually gets babies or stuffed animals out and puts them in her bed and goes to sleep on her own😂 I say just let them do their own thing and let them have their own routine to help them be comfortable and shut the door

Out girl has been sleeping on a floor bed for the past 6 months the and it’s been amazing!!!!

did she have any trouble in the beginning? My sons always been a great sleeper and would put himself to sleep at about 7 and stay asleep until 6:30/7 but wouldn't have any issues playing in his crib until sometimes as late as 8:30. Once we tried the floor bed he wouldn't fall asleep unless we were in there and would wake up easily and again wouldn't go back down until we were in there. We tried it for about a week and then went back to the crib

what are his current wake windows and nap length?

he naps at 12 for 1.5-3 hours depending on the day. Once we moved him back in the crib he went back to his normal self after 1 night so I don't think it's his schedule
