MAM bottle measurements

Hi, so I’m just oooking for some advice as my brain is a bit baffled!! so we use the tommee tippee prep machine for feeds and when we’re out I’ve just been using the ready made bottles. However we’ve been wanting to start using the rapid cool flask when out to make bottles as the cost of ready made ones soon adds up!! So we used to use tommee tippee bottles and 5oz came up to 5oz from the prep Machine even with formula in… since switching to MAM bottles I’ve noticed the measurements don’t match up with the tommee tippee ones we previously used (I know this is a thing with MAM bottles) coming to 5 1/2 oz for example with formula in when tommee tippee always came to 5 oz from the prep machine. So my question is, when I’m out using MAM bottles and the rapid cool flask.. do I fil the water up to the 5oz mark (even though I know the water is less than 5 because of the measurements on their bottle being wacky) or 5 1/2oz when I know this is a more accurate amount for the 5 scoops of water? Sorry that’s so long winded… just very confused 😂😂

I do 1 scoop to 1oz. I’ve always used mam and I use prep machine at night time. I used an empty bottle to fill up the oz in a bottle purely with water from prep and it does goes to the fluid oz. If you’ve got the night and day prep machine you can also set it to mls or fl.z too. I use Aptamil and on the feeding guide it says how many scoops for mls and fl.oz which are the same measurement for powder so I do 1 scoop to 1oz therefore with the nuby rapid cool, I fill it to the ounce and not mls. The formula is irrelevant, we’ve used mam bottles for both our kids and between them they’ve been on 3 different formulas with them, always comes up the same

I noticed this when using my MAM bottles to make a 5oz feed. I think as long as you’re putting in the correct amount of level scoops and your machine is set to the correct oz, I wouldn’t worry. With regard to the rapid coolers. I would advise you buy a separate flask off Amazon (I’ll link the one I have. It also is advertised with the powder pots so you know people buy them for use with baby formula), as it keeps the water hotter for longer. The ones that come with the TT or nuby coolers only stay above 70 for roughly 2 hours.. which is not enough time if you’re out and about. Just isn’t worth the risk. When you go out - if you know your bubs is due a feed in the next hour, just make up a bottle before you go as it’ll have 2 hours on the clock from time of making it, and then you’ll have 1hr when bubs starts feeding. But in regards to your question about making them when out - just fill it to 150ml (5oz) .. alternatively just fill it up exactly where your machine fills it to x

@Gabriella how long does that flask keep the water hot for? X

@Chloe hey, I think I tested it after 6 hours and was still above 70! So much better than the flasks that come with the coolers. My friend uses this exact one also and we’d both recommend it. I accidentally bought the 1L one and I wish I’d bought the 500ml one because it’s bloody massive 😂 x
