Diaper rash

So I’m getting concerned - my 15 month old had a diaper rash that was almost gone yesterday, but today there’s red circles, not bumps but look like pumps in a region closer to his buttocks and the little bit of rash left in his inner thighs. I’m use all recommended creams by his doctor, who’s now on vacation and my husband is gone for a few more weeks so I have no time for an appt with a new doctor. Any tips? I’m a first time mom and am stressed out of my mind. He has no pain to the touch or it hi was or a fever or any other symptoms than the rash itself.

Keep applying diaper cream until it’s fully gone. Let your baby go diaper less for some time to air the area out. Give a bath, make sure the area is very well dried before putting a diaper back on. Those are a few things I do if my kids get diaper rash

For my son who gets really bad diaper rashes (he has incredibly sensitive skin) is if it’s only a pee diaper don’t wipe his butt and just keep applying a ton of diaper rash cream. If it’s a poop diaper just gently wipe his butt and apply a ton of cream. Our pediatrician recommended this and it helps a ton! We use maximum strength Desitin (40% zinc oxide)

Oof are they sure he doesn't have a fungal diaper rash? Nystatin or over the counter anti fungal cream may be a good path. Most kids get a bad rash like that after they have been on antibiotics or if mom in breastfeeding and on antibiotics or if they have thrush/ mom has thrush. Would be worth checking into.

As much as it sucks I would say stop diapering your little one as much as possible. I know that is hard but let the cheeks feel the breeze because the air will get rid of the stagnant moist environment the bacteria are thriving in.

I hope things start feeling better for him. ♥️
