Council housing

Hi, I live in a privately rented studio flat (no bedrooms) and due to unemployment and mental health, I am on the council list at Band C. I’ve just fell pregnant will they expect me & my partner to have the baby in the studio flat? What’s everyone’s experience with getting moved? I really don’t think I could raise a child in this environment.

I was homeless and living in a hostel provided by council when I was pregnant. Gave birth and stayed in the hostel with our baby till he was 11 months and then was able to bid on a flat and moved in after 11 months. Unfortunately it's so so so hard to get a council place and they really push you to rent your own place no matter how small. Can pm me if you have any questions x
