I had my 8w2d scan and baby showed a strong heartbeat and great growth and on track.
However, I am going to be flying to Newfoundland on Saturday and I have a HUGE fear of flying. Major anxiety, heart races, panic, etc.
Will this harm my baby? I do have Ativan that I’ve asked if safe to take (which it is in small increments not for long use). I’m SO scared I’m going to cause myself to miscarry and I’ve already suffered 2 early losses.

I usually take drugs to fly because I am terrified too! But I flew with my first pregnancy early on and was able to skip the drugs and even though I was stressed out big time everything was fine. Bring something to comfort you, maybe something to squeeze when you get nervous. I play mindless games on my phone during takeoff and landing because those are the worst parts to me. Oh and turbulence 🥴

I think it will give you the most peace of mind to skip the drugs entirely. And you might be surprised—by the time I boarded my fourth flight I wasn’t nearly as sweaty 😅
I am literally a basket case when it comes to flying. Although I do it, I am an extremely nervous flyer. I will be bringing a book, colouring book and my phone to play games. The plane has a tv as well on the seats so I’ll be playing something in the background. Idk if skipping the drugs will help me mentally because I know I have something to calm me down and keep me calm that is safe for baby based on my doctors recommendations. I’m nervous the stress is going to do harm. First trimesters are rough.
I do have my EFTS when I come back (the one that checks for proper spinal and neck closure) so that will give me some peace of mind. I’m a very nervous flyer so stressing is inevitable hahaha 😅😂
