ADHD

Hey. Not our 20mo but our just turned 3yo. With a lot of research we're beginning to question it. One sign that struck me for toddlers was over friendliness with strangers and our daughter walks up to random people and just cuddles or kisses them before we've even had a chance to shout her name. Along with all the common signs too. It's hard at this age because some do have more energy than others but there's something in my gut suggesting that maybe this is what is going on with our daughter.

Not this 20m old, but when my 5yr old was this age, we used to say things like "oh she's such a funky chicken" because she was just a wild child and wouldn't play with toys the way you're supposed to, and just wanted to sing and dance. At age 3/4 we realised that "funky chicken" was definitely just code for ADHD, and now when she started reception, me and her teachers agreed that there is definitely a lot of adhd traits. A lot of people will say that you can't tell this early, but you know your own child. If they have it, there is nothing you can do, so just live that funky chicken life 😂
Also, now raising a "neurotypical" child, I can 100% tell the difference haha

It's in the back of my mind but no not really. In our family even neuro typical children have been very like our girl, but I'm awaiting diagnosis and there is autism on her dad's side and probs mine tbh.

But nope, we have reguskr development checks due to a condition she was born with, also a link to behavioural conditions, and they've not picked up on anything abnormal. She's very advanced for her age, intelligent and along with that can also come the never ending energy as they just need more input xx
