Mam anti colic valves discolouring
Has anyone has any issues with the white anti colic valves on their mam bottles turning purple? I’ve now had two come out of the steriliser looking like they have purple mould splotches on but it seems to be within the plastic as it can’t be cleaned off. Nothing other than formula has been in the bottles and we’ve only ever steam sterilised them. First one happened 2 days ago and we’ve just had another one so it tonight. Marks weren’t there when they went in and everything else is fine 🤷🏻♀️ worried it’s something in the plastic and it’s making me not want to use them at all!!

How long have you been using them for? My sons had his 14 months now and they are still white
Send a picture to MAM customer services they’re usually pretty good at replacing if it’s a defect. I use MAM and mine are white still not seen this before x
I’ve never had this happen either. Could be a random thing? Or something with the steriliser? Is it just this one?

no it’s 2 different ones and it’s happened 48 hours apart. Both times there has been 3 other bottles in the steriliser as well and they’re fine. It’s just a steam steriliser so nothing else goes in it other than water either
Ours use to stain yellow from the dairy free milk but once steamed they went back to white.
What u washing them with, wonder if there's a reaction going on.we just washed with normal fairy.

Ours stain purple due to dissolved omeprazole sticking (we wash them out ofc but it can be stubborn) but I've not had anything quite like this.
just wash them with regular fairy washing up liquid. I’ll make sure to update this when they respond!
what have you managed to get the stains off with? I’ve just tried to soak them in warm soapy water and scrub with the bottle brush but it’s made no difference
MAM sell the valves separately, and I think on Amazon too. So you don’t have to buy the whole bottle again to replace it which is good. If customer service aren’t any good, I’d say re buy it!
No joy, I'm afraid. They fade somewhat over time, we just try to use those same ones for the omeprazole bottle only.
defo contact customer services, they should replace that part if not the whole bottles x
