Hey guys,
Need some help,
Im having a baby with my partner and he comes over a lot and will do so a lot more often once the baby comes especially because he is able to work from anywhere (laptop). I live within the Hackney borough how can I go about getting a resident parking permit, if he isn’t on the tenancy, is there any way we can go about this. There is to many parking restrictions on the road I am on and even if we wanted to rent someone’s bay through “just park” it’s £132 minimum a month instead of resident parking which is £140 a year 🥲 (I also only have a provisional if it makes a difference).

You can get 2 hour or day visitor parking vouchers and pick how many pages you would like to get it can be a bit pricey but I think this would help. Xx

Islington has 40 hours of free parent parking vouchers for parents of newborns. I wonder if maybe Hackney would have something similar worth checking x

The log book needs to be registered to your address in Hackney. Then he’ll be able to get a permit. If not then you’ll have to buy visitor vouchers
would it work if the name is his and not mine - I don’t want to get in trouble thinking he is living with me/ I’m subletting

I’m not entirely sure how it works with council properties tbh. You can call them to confirm. Most of the stuff is done online now, so they’ll prob ask you to upload a picture of the log book to the website
