Hello,
I am pregnant with my first baby due in April 2025 and I would like to apply to start a 4-year doctorate in September 2025.
The course I’m thinking of doing is mainly online study & 2 days a week in practice. Teaching will be 1 weekend once a month.
I wondered how realistic this is with a 6 month old? If you are studying your PhD how old was your baby at the time? And how have you found it?

Hey I think you can handle it. So far I am a month in full time job , part time PhD, trying for a baby , renovating the house and a fur mum lol 😂 xx

I agree, it’s very doable but requires planning and some organization. It also requires flexibility when things don’t go as they are supposed to (baby gets sick, baby didn’t sleep well etc…). You need to give yourself grace and be kind to yourself basically

I just finished my PhD. I defended my thesis while pregnant. I would have found it hard with an infant to look after (my course was entirely online)
