Making bottles abroad?

For those who have taken their babies on holiday abroad… We’re going to Tenerife in December and my baby will be around 4.5 months so still be having a fair few bottles a day. I know we aren’t meant to drink the tap water ourselves due to their water not being as clean as ours in the UK so our bodies aren’t used to it. However can we use the tap water to make a bottle if it’s boiled in a kettle? Does boiling it kill any bacteria etc in it that would make us poorly? Or do I buy bottled water and then use that in the kettle? Any other travel tips for a FTM on their first family holiday would be much appreciated 😁 xx

We went to Croatia in June when our little one was 5 months. We bought bottled water and then boiled it in the kettle to make her bottles just to be on the safe side. I took a collapsible bucket too and Milton tablets to sterilise her bottles. I promise it's not has bad or scary as it seems taking them abroad. Will probably be harder now ours is on the move and won't sit still 😂

When we went to Mallorca with our 4 month old we found that boiling the tap water wasn’t working out, baby was being sick a lot, presumably just because the composition of the water is different to ours. So half way through the holiday we switched to using bottled water which was much better. You have to be sure to choose a brand of bottled water that’s safe to use for babies though, as some have too much sodium. Font Vella is one brand I know you can use that you can buy in Tenerife. A quick Google should tell you some others 😊 Have a fab holiday! PS it’s safe for adults to drink the tap water in Tenerife 😊 https://tappwater.co/blogs/blog/tap-water-canary-islands-water-filter#:~:text=Is%20the%20tap%20water%20in%20Gran%20Canaria%2C%20Tenerife%2C%20Lanzarote%2C,%2C%20Sweden%2C%20UK%20or%20France.

Hey we have just been to Spain. We bought bottled water to make our son milk. From our research we found evian or font vella appropriate so thats what we used. We use MAM bottles which can be sterilised by microwave and our hotel had this but had taken the milton tablets just incase. Security was okay with ready made milks and food i took a few incase bag was lost. I checked in the powder although next time i will buy and collect at airport as recommended to save luggage. One massive tip is please have a pram bag, store your pram there so its secure we checked ours in and when returned it had lost a wheel also drink hold and ended up buying a new pram to use which was not ideal xx
