Baby in more pain on allergy milk..
My baby has been on SMA Althera for 6 days. He was previously on aptamil pepti. Since being on Althera he js screaming in pain. I’m aware both these formulas still have cows milk in but why is he in MORE pain on allergy formula?!

My LG is in the exact same situation. She’s been on SMA Althera for 6 days and screams/ cries several times a day. I’m trying to wait it out as I know it can take 2+ weeks for the symptoms to improve and their body to recover from the old formula x
I wouldn’t switch to a non cows milk formula
why’s that?
Pepti and althera both contain the same protien so Dr should have prescribed nutramigen if pepti wasn't working so it may be the protiens in pepti/althera causing the symptoms

Could he have reflux? I'd probably switch back to pepti for now, but I'd also ask for an amino acid formula, as he could still be reacting to dairy. My baby has been on Althera and Pepti, but she was still going all red and blotchy on it so the dietician has now put us on Neocate (amino acid formula). This formula has been making her quite gassy and sicky though, but I'm hoping this will calm down soon 😑
