Did Neocate help your babies reflux?

I know neocate is thin and can make reflux worse so please don’t comment that. I’m just wondering if anyone has had experience where neocate has actually helped with their babies reflux?!

My son was on Aptamil Pepti and his reflux reduced but other symptoms remained. We moved to SMA Althera but now his reflux is 50x worse! I’m wondering if it’s worse asking for neocate.

Neocate helped my son for approx a month before his reflux started again. We thought we were in the clear before it came back. He was changed to pepticate and is doing so much better!

Are you using anything to treat reflux?
That would be my course of action first (and likely your GPs)

My daughter didn’t have neocate she had alfamino (still amino acid formula) and as you said they’re thin and trigger reflux - hers was worse on amino acid formula.. the dr actually said it’s normal and as long as they’re happy and gaining weight then it’s best to leave them

Unfortunately no
It did calm down when we began weaning (within a few weeks) but flares with any citrus fruits
She's also on gavison which didn't stop the reflux as it was still bad but it was definitely 10x better than without it and then movicol to help with the constipation gavison causes

he is on omeprazole and he’s not happy. It causes him lots of pain.

I’m adament my son’s reflux is caused by CMPA rather than there being a cause along side CMPA. So I think if we find the right formula his reflux will be better. His reflux was reduced with aptamil pepti which is just as thin as all the others. X

Unfortunately reflux may start as a symptom of cmpa but 99% of babies on allergy milk end up with reflux no matter if it'd the magic milk or not
If omerprazle isn't working for baby try something else there's plenty out there as omerprazle is more for acid and things like carobel thicken the milk instead
Changing formula to often or to many times is more likely to upset baby's tummy more I'd suggest sticking to a milk that clears baby's other symptoms rather than worry about just reflux as it doesn't usually both babies when they're sick

we have already tried carobel and gaviscon. I know it doesn’t bother a lot of babies but reflux causes my son extreme pain. He can’t even lay down without screaming in pain. He is also losing weight. I feel like I’ve tried everything except an amino acid formula. Even the GP said there’s not really anything else we can try.

Ah yes if still losing weight and the reflux is causing issues definitely try neocate or alfamino
For us alfamino reflux was sooo much worse for my girl than neocate bur every baby is different
Have you tried lanzaprazole instead of omerprazle
I could of spelt that sooo wrong ive just seen people mention it was a magic trick for their babies hand really helped reflux
There is honestly so many possibilities the gp just doesn't sound like they want to try
If you have Facebook I'd definitely join main group cmpa support group it's amazing if you haven't already
Obviously alot more members than here and usually aee lots of advice given
I so hope something helps baby

thanks. My GP told me lansoprazole is not licensed in the UK for babies. And I’m already on the Facebook group. Thanks for your help x
