Baby wriggling under blanket

Hoping this makes sense. At the moment we have our little boy (just over two weeks old) sleeping in his carrycot at night on the pram chassis, with a blanket tucking him in. We do have a next to me but the one night we used it we got so anxious about the blanket situation so temporarily changed to the carrycot. Now he’s constantly kicking his legs out of the blanket in the carrycot, so I’d like to give the next to me a go with a new cellular blanket, and I hope he won’t wriggle as much. It isn’t that he’s wriggling down, just kicking his legs out of the blanket. If we have luck with the next to me, any tips for combatting his kicking legs?? We do ensure we tuck the blanket in properly but he’s such a mover! Hoping to use sleeping bags with him but he hasn’t reached the weight yet

Have you tried swaddling him with the blankets?

If he's in a baby grow his feet will be warm, there's nothing you can do a part from swaddle in a muslin blanket not a cellular or thick blanket

What's his weight? As u could use a sleeping bag instead, so much better!

@Rebecca he’s due to be weighed tomorrow but last time was only 6lb 11oz still so think we’ve got some time until we can put him in them! I know love to dream do some newborn ones but by the time we start using it he’d have to go into the next size anyway
