Help! Hot house, no AC, newborn baby.

I have a five week old baby and our house has no power after the hurricane. I’m so scared about him overheating, getting heat exhaustion or having a heat stroke. We evacuated and we are going back home tomorrow, if anyone has any tips please send them to me.

Hi Bree! I was very worried about this as well and spoke with a nurse. She said just keep the baby in a diaper and they’ll be ok. There are lots of babies in even warmer climates all over the world who do fine. It might not be ideal, but she didn’t seem to have any concerns about overheating.

We found keeping the blinds closed helped so that the house didn’t heat with the sun during Helene.
