Steroid injection

I have a condition called dequervain’s tenosynovitis, which developed during pregnancy. I was informed after delivery the pain in the thumb, wrist will go away after delivery but it didn't happen. Now my baby is 11 months old and my pain is become unbearable especially while handling the baby and doing chores and doing basic things it's a struggle. I have been prescribed steroid injections and if pain doesn't go away then advised for a surgery. I am breastfeeding. My family is against steroids. I am unable to decide to go for steroid injection or no. I also had blood clots after my cesarean. So I am googling and it's making me so confused. If any one has some knowledge please share.

Are you against the steroids or "the family". I am not a doc, but if that's the treatment I would go with the injections. If YOU are not comfortable with this, bring it up along with any other concerns like blood clots. Ask to speak with someone else if needed.

I had carpel tunnel In pregnancy then developed this at ce 7months PP - honestly unbearable pain and debilitating- I couldn’t even change a nappy or hold baby to breastfeed on one side. Risks of this type of steroid inj are v v minimal - and I had immediate relief I resumed nor Al activity the same day as the injection- my GP just advised even if pain free do not do any heavy lifting for at least 6 weeks P.s - intrigued re “family against steroids” havnt encountered this before is it like johovas witness’ agains blood transfusion or something??

@Micha nope just a bunch of morons ( my in-laws) who think I am acting and downplay my pain
