Formula milk on daycare, anyone?

My baby's 15mos and recently transitioned from infant to toddlers' room. She's been on formula since she was 5th months. The daycare keeps on insisting on cow's milk for her and not the formula I provide. My husband and I believe there's more nutrients in the formula than the cows milk but what do yall think? I just saw my baby's updates thru the app that she was given cows milk without our permission. Is that reasonable?

Have you spoken to the Director about it? Did they agree to give her the formula? If they’re not going to give it to her, I’m surprised that they even took it from you at drop off. From my experience, they just give all the kids in the Toddler room the same milk, they don’t do any special accommodations unless there’s an allergy. Maybe ask to keep her in the infant room a bit longer until you’re ready for her to switch to cow’s milk?

Yes, they approved of the formula milk to be given to my baby. I'm honestly okay with cows milk, but my husband doesn't. Still convincing him. Just wondering would the transition from formula to cows milk do any harm to baby's stomach like just any differences rather?

Ok, yeah if it was approved then I would be annoyed that they’re not doing it, can you talk to the teacher about it? Or send a message through the app, maybe they forgot? I’m not a doctor but I don’t think switching to cows milk would do any harm to her stomach, you’ll have to switch eventually … I switched my daughter from formula to cows milk slowly around 14-15 months. I just started mixing 1/4 milk:formula, then half and half then three quarters, then all milk so she got used to the new flavour. I did each ratio for a week or so. She’s going to start eating more solids and will be getting her nutrients from food rather than formula as she gets older. Since you want her to have room for food, she doesn’t need to fill up on formula anymore.

I would be annoyed that they gave her something that you haven’t introduced yet BUT, it is the recommendation that they go to cows milk after 12m because the formula becomes more of a meal replacement and the priority should be real food at this age.
Unless your doctor has specified that she shouldn’t have cows milk and to stay on formula I would consider the transition but definitely don’t dismiss the fact that the daycare went against your wishes.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
