After 4 months postpartum finally hit and im over everything and everyone around me. Ive been a SAHM since baby was born (baby is 6m old now), and was home during my pregnancy due to HG. Partner went back to 1 month after baby was born. However, its now at a point where my postpartum feels like its at its peak or atleast worse than its been and partner is now also depressed and stressed and wants me to go back to work. I feel like ive hit a wall because financially partner is bringing in a decent amount however due to inflation its just not cutting it. If i go back to work i lose all my assistance which adds more to the bills overall so anything i make has to cover what is going to be lost plus childcare. Ive also had no luck even finding a job that pays anything close to what partner makes even with a bachelors degree. Feeling guilty also because i feel like i should be the one raising my baby not paying someone else to so i can go back to the workforce and us still be struggling as a household. Id love to be able to feel okay and work and raise a happy baby, have some sort of financial stability but right now i feel so helpless like nothing is going to make this situation better. Ive talked to friends about this and they fully agree with my viewpoint on this but i also feel like theres definitely bias because theyre friends so thoughts? any ideas how to deal with postpartum as well because i feel like im losing my mind? its a constant battle in my mind and its making me into this angry irritated person 24/7 im tired.

Going back to work is not for money alone. It could also help your mental health. Taking care of a baby is hard work, regular work seems like a vacation after that. It will help you get some break, interact with adults, focus on something else. Overall it might be helpful to you even though financially it doesn’t make too much sense. You will spend time with your baby outside the work hours and over the weekends. At least for me I enjoy it much more now because I am not overstimulated. Even though the time is limited she gets a happier mom for that time.
Overall going back to work would hurt the household financially ontop of me not being able to be with baby. Thats whats stressing the most. Overall i do need to get out more though 100% , just honestly tired.
