Toddler illness

Anyone else’s toddler who is at Nursey getting ill every other week again now winter has hit ? I’ve been told it takes a whole winter to build their immune system but It’s not even proper winter and he’s had two temps and colds in two weeks - makes me worry if I should get some blood tests done cos he keeps picking everything up !! Or is it normal with toddler kids at nursery.

Last year he started in march and march - may were pretty bad but the summer he was great only poorly once !

Yep. Mines brought something home every.single.week 😭. There’s not one single week since August that we haven’t had a new illness from nursery. I went to the doctors last year as my baby was ill so much and they said it’s totally normal as they have no immune system and that the more illnesses they get now the less they’ll get I’ll when they’re older. My step daughter was ill loads as a toddler and NEVER gets ill now. She’s 8 and don’t think she’s had any of the bugs we’ve all had in the last 3/4 years

thanks so much this is reassuring - I saw a really arsey dr …. Basically he got tonsillitis a few times and they always give antibiotics and she basically had a go at me saying I wasn’t good for for him bla bla and if he keeps getting Ill have to do tests - I was like well it’s not me prescribing them. Then I saw a nice dr and she said the other dr was wrong to say that. So you’ve definitely reassured me - thank you for taking the time to reply . It’s so hard isn’t it ! Balancing work too ! Xx

My eldest toddler is 3 and has been going preschool 2 days a week and speech therapy once a week, now we've finished speech therapy I'm adding on a extra day at nursery. I have 2 younger children too 21 months and 7 months old. And I swear it's my eldest bringing home all the germs. My youngest still hasn't had his 16 week jabs as when he was supposed to have it he caught bronchiolitis then he had a cold and the cough stayed forever, then I re booked and guess what his just got over another bout of bronchiolitis I'm hoping it will be 3rd time lucky next week.
