I'm currently 35+3 days. I've had many many many appointments and never had any problems. I had an appointment this morning with my consultant just to sign forms and swabs for my c section. The nurse asked me if I've ever had high blood pressure. I'm like no, confused. Left it for about 10 mins and checked again and my BP was still high. The last few weeks my hands and feet have been swelling, but didn't think anything of it. Now I'm thinking it could be something. I didn't do a urine sample cause tbh I genuinely couldn't be arsed and I had a scan and all the checks done on Friday just gone and nothing was said. Now I'm wondering if I should have had a sample. My consultant is worried about myself mode than the baby and is surprised that I'm going to make it 37 weeks. I mean things can still change but I'm now worried that it could be leading to something else and won't make it to my planned date 😕
Is there any point in asking triage or just leave it and see what happens at my midwife appointment next Wednesday? As he also said to get my midwife to give him a call next week if my BP was on the elevated side

They may wish to check you for preeclampsia as high BP and swelling are some of the symptoms along with protein in the urine. I'd say ask triage to check you for preeclampsia.
Did they use the correct size cuff when checking your BP? I've found if it's not a large enough cuff it affects the reading.

@Nicole yeah they used the correct cuff and the electronic one and did it twice. With the same outcome. I'm just kicking myself that I didn't do a urine sample to check that part. As like I said I didn't have any problems last week with the checks. So I just brushed it all off and just assumed everything like the swelling is part of just being pregnant, as I know it's common thing to happen

they should have asked you for a urine sample to be honest.

Don't kick yourself! It's the midwife's and consultant's job to check on you and get what they need. But if I was you I would ring up with your concerns and ask if they can check. It's a bit odd they didn't check your urine - it takes 2 seconds

My BP has changed past few weeks too and is high, I'm currently 34+6, I'm also showing protein in urine. The midwife and doctors have said I am borderline preeclampsia, but I have no other symptoms i.e swelling etc so not overly concerned but I have extra monitoring now. I would ring triage if you are swelling, they can get you in and you can do the urine sample then, more for your peace of mind. It may not change anything with your delivery date, but they might want to do more monitoring on you 😊 hope you're ok!

My highest blood pressure reading with my previous baby was 150 over 100, which is dangerously high, and they still didn't deliver baby any sooner than planned so I tend not to worry now if my blood pressure is a little on the high side
