My son is 17 months old and still nurses, but my supply is decreasing and he won’t do bottles (he used to drink pumped breast milk) and also won’t drink water or juice from his straw cup. He is getting constipated and isn’t wetting his diapers enough. How can I encourage him to drink??

Did you try other cups? We've had good experience with the Munchkin 360, which is more like an open cup.

My lo was doing pretty good with drinking milk and water from a cup but then got sick. She only wanted to nurse during that time and now is still rejecting cups from me with a loud “no!” 🫠
To not turn it into a huge battle, I’ve continued gently offering at each meal. I’ve noticed she’s more willing to take the cup from others rather than me. We also include ice with her water which she gets excited about and I’ve caved and let her have some juice 90% diluted with water now and then when I get particularly concerned. Otherwise you can just nurse more often and get your supply back up.

You can also try an open cup! I was surprised my baby is super enthusiastic about her little open cup and will keep drinking until I stop filling it (and then will be a bit mad at me…) it can be messy-ish but most of the time not the worst and I know she’s definitely hydrated.
