I was just wondering if anyone can comment on the RSV vaccine? My doctor today pulled a face today as if she didn’t recommend when she mentioned getting it. None of my family or friend have had the vaccine but I want to do what’s best for my baby. What was your experience with the vaccine?
Thankyou xx

It’s only been out in the UK for a few weeks, I don’t know anybody who has had it either - there’s not much guidance on it from the UK side either in my opinion so I’m really torn but intrigued to see what other people say x

I’m unsure if to get it as well! My doctors have pushed it on me tooo! I’m 30 weeks today! I’m really torn but feel like I’m not going to get it ! I just don’t know enough info on it!xx

I recieved a request to book the RSV vaccine at 38/39wks as they were rolling it out for the autumn season but ignored it. I felt it was inappropriate at that stage in my pregnancy considering I felt sh*t enough already!
I chased it up postpartum and was told (by both midwife and GP surgery) it is only to be given PP if you or baby are at high risk, if you've a healthy baby then there's no need. Same applies to the Flu and covid vac but I work in healthcare so I'll get them via occupational health separately.

I'm not planning on my daughters having it if its been offered. They've both had RSV & will have natural immunity from that. Which I believe is far more affective than any type of vaccination.
I'm not anti vax however, I do feel like as a whole we're bullied into having vaccinations a lot more these days.

In my opinion I just feel like it's not been out long enough to chuck yourself at it🤷🏽♀️
