Hey mamas!
I have a two week old baby that I was hoping to exclusively breastfeed (expressed milk during the night to allow my husband to help out)
However, I’m only able to express about 2/2.5oz each time I express. Is this not very little?! 😣 now I’m worrying that when I’m BF my wee man he isn’t getting enough.. should I be producing more?

At 2 weeks I think that's great! I'm a low supplier and at 5 months pp Im lucky if I get that much!
Remember baby's tummy is only still little at this point as well!
Aw that is reassuring, Hannah! Thank you!
Sorry to hear you’re struggling with supply, it’s the hardest journey ever!! Go you mama for sticking with it 🩷

Are you breastfeeding AND expressing? If so that’s a really good amount! Especially for 2 weeks ! As long as little one has enough wet nappies and is gaining weight they’re definitely getting enough from you! And like Hannah said babies tummy is really little right now :)
I’m an exclusive pumper so around a month PP I was getting 4ishoz per pump so if you imagine your babies getting 2-3 from feeding on you and another 2 pumped that’s great!!
Yes BF and pumping! Awh girls you have really reassured me. I was panicking thinking I wasn’t giving him what he needs 😣 thank you so much! X

2.5oz a pump is amazing for 2 weeks! Their tummies are too little right now and can’t handle much. That’s why they eat so little so often. Just keep at it and it’ll get better

At two weeks, that is amazing.
Have you and your husband seen pace feeding techniques to ensure that you’re not overfilling baby?
Also, a general rule of thumb for babies that only eat breastmilk is 1-1.5 oz per hour. So if baby is feeding every 2-3 hours a bottle should contain between 2-4.5 oz. A breastfed baby should never need more than 5 oz per feeding no matter the age. Unlike formula, breastmilk changes in calorie content as baby grows to give them what they need. Often times if a breastfed baby is over fed via bottle it stretches their tummies and this can cause them to be unsettled and can be confused for still being hungry.
We haven’t seen any of the pace feeding techniques- but I’ll look them up on the internet to see! Thank you so much girls. Very supportive and I really appreciate it 🩷
