Breastfeeding at night - exhausted

I have a 5 months old baby girl and she wakes up every 2 hours at night for feed
I am not able to feel her while laying down so have to wake up and sit
She rejects bottle so no help that way
Does anyone faced the same issue
And is it normal for a 5 months old to wake up every 2 hours ?

My baby was feeding every 2 to 3 hours when he was 5 months old and it was just a habit. He wasn't actually hungry. He was just used to eating at that time so I tried other methods of soothing him first before offering him food and eventually I got his feedings down till like once a night

Maybe try to bottle feed at least once at night . Give your baby a extra once before when or when your baby wakes up at night a extra once or two should be fine.Do u give baby food during the day?

if you mean give formula, it's an old wives tale that formula fed babies sleep better than breastfed! X

no a prepared breast milk in the bottle so u kno how much your baby is drinking give them a extra ounce or two before bed for a longer stretch. If you burp your baby every 2-4oz

I had this problem at 3 mths. Before I fed my baby formula. I changed the nipple size n up her oz at bedtime I call it the dream bottle.

My little one is also EBF, he went through a stage of waking up every 1-2 hours in the night for a feed around 4.5 months lasting about a week and going through it again now at 6 months. (It is hard) I went to a breastfeeding support group as I was worried I’m not helping him learn other ways to sleep, and whether it was out of habit rather than hunger. They said it’s completely normal for them to go through stages like this (developmental leaps/ growth spurts/ teething) more so with breast fed as they digest milk differently to formula. The longer stretches of sleep will return but right now they just need us more in the night 🥰 You’re doing amazing Muma

Sounds about right it gets better mama stay strong! My girl is almost 10 months and still ebf. Now she only wakes once to nurse over night but that started around like 6-6 1/2ish months. You got this 🫶🏽

Sorry to say this but my baby is 8 months and a good night is her waking up every 2-3 hours to be honest

Some people can say whatever they want about what you can do for a baby to ‘sleep longer’ or ‘sleep through’ and I’m telling you, its a load of shit.
Its temperament of the baby I believe!

You adjust to it though, now I’m fine just get on with it.
Its all relative and you get used to what your normal is!
I started having that attitude after like 6 months when she was going down easier after feeds!

thank you for saying this. I needed to read this today. Since 5 months my baby boy has been waking up to 10 times a night, when he used to wake maximum 2 times. We’ve not changed anything. I’ve just got to ride the wave and he’ll sleep again eventually!

its so hard but it does get better mentally even though the sleep might not🤣
Every night is so different atm! I used to dread every single night but now I just try to look forward to the morning!!

I have a nice cuddle/play in bed with lights in morning with her and she giggles with it! Thats helped a lot tbh with my mentality of it all x
