Hey mama’s, I have a birth options appointment tomorrow at 32 weeks. This is my 3rd baby, first was virginal birth, second Emmergency c-section due to fetal distress at around 9cm dilated.
Does anyone know what I should expect during this appointment and how long it will take?
The original appointment was two weeks ago and got rescheduled for next week.
However, I will have to take my two children with me due to them being off school. They normally sit still reading a book or playing a game.

I had mine over the phone I was adamant I wanted another C-section. The appt lasted all off 5 mins.

Mine was about ten mins x

I had mine quite early on, after an emergency section with my first and it was super duper quick, like 15/20 mins, like the other ladies. The consultant literally went through the pros & cons of both VBAC and planned section then asked me what my preference was. I’d done quite a lot research myself beforehand to know what I wanted, so that defo helped x

This is a thing? I'm 33 and a half weeks and no ones mentioned this to me

@Holley it's usually if you're consultant led/ high risk.
For example I had one because I have gestational diabetes and have decided to birth out of guidelines

yeah I am high risk and consultant led and have GD

I wonder if all trusts do it? I didn’t have one first time round despite being classed as high risk and being consultant led. The only reason I got one this time was because of my previous unplanned section. Worth asking your midwife, especially with your GD diagnosis as I was told, again first time round, they would induce me at 38w if I had it x
the original app was a telephone app but I couldn’t do it as it was scheduled for during the school run. I am trying to avoid c-section, as I had a rough recovery the last time
I think it is offered to you if you have had a baby before with no complications or just had one c-section
Thank you all for the reassurance, went to my app this afternoon and took both of my children with me. I had a full check-up and we went over all the pros and cons of my VBAC and how they will support me to have my choice of birth. The midwife and staffs were all accommodating and made my children feel welcome(they just sat in the corner with ipads and airpods on) as they knew it’s half term.

@Holley you will.probably have a discussion around 36 weeks, then . I did last pregnancy . I've had a " birth options" appointment this time because I'm not following what they want me to do. X
