I need some advice from mums as the doctors just seem to palm me off. My 4.5 month old has really dry skin and the say it’s eczema but I’m just not sure as they have prescribed a cream called dermo 500 and it is still so bad after using it for over a week. Anyone have one have any advice

Hi, I’ve used La Rosay Posay and it’s very very good. My suggestion is get La Rosay Posay Baby Lipikar Syndet AP+ as the baby wash and after apply La Rosay Posay Lipikar Baume when skin is damp, not completely dry. Both items are fine for babies. It really works but will set you back about £35-40 for both. The bottle however is huge and will last ages, please try this. Just fyi above advise is for dry skin, if you are referring to scalp care then this would not be relevant although the same body wash can still be used.

If it's eczema than it could be milk allergy. Otherwise can try some coconut oil 🙂

Looks like cradle cap? My first got it on her forehead. I gently rubbed in some coconut oil and let it sit for a while before wiping it off. It’s a bit more difficult when they have hair as the scales can pull the hair out when they come off, but you could try dentinox shampoo and a special brush for cradle cap.

I’m experiencing this with my little one. Unfortunately it’s not a quick process and can take up to three weeks to see a difference as the cream isn’t very strong and that’s how long skin takes to renew

My 4 month old has this, I’ve been using child’s farm moisturiser and is slowly clearing up

Do you breastfeed? If you do breast milk is very good for dry skin, just let it absorb into their skin, don’t wipe it away. If not baby oil helped loads with my son’s dry skin!

You can get E45 bath milk which is very good.
