Hand foot and mouth?

My LO has just got over it and he had a cold and cough first, not sure if its a coincidence or not. I will add a picture of his spots xxx

Yes, he started with a temperature then broke out in the spots 12 hours later and has been coughing as well

Yeah they are the first symptoms of it

Thanks everyone! I’m almost certain he’s got it. The sores on his bum look so painful 😩 are there any creams or anything to put on? Or does it just get better?

our boys ended up infected so he was prescribed an antibiotic cream but I think if they’re not infected there’s nothing you need to apply. I’m not 100% though, I’d definitely recommend seeing a doctor.

@Polly we didn't get a cream to put on the sores but it left him with awful nappy rash which we did get a cream prescribed for. We also used Sudosalve and Metanium mixed with vaseline which helped with the nappy rash x

My boy had this last week. We didnt know what it was & he was screaming crying so we took him to a&e (well, 2 different ones before someone actually clicked on) they gave us difflam spray for his mouth and allerief to stop the itching as be was scratching himself raw on his legs. Calomine lotion really helped too. Dried the rash out really fast x

Also we put fruit pouches in the fridge and had plenty of yogurts in as this was all he would tolerate as his mouth was quite bad x

Thanks everyone! He definitely has it and have never heard him cry in pain so much 😞 I can’t actually see any in his mouth but he’s not really eating so it must be sore. He’s been constantly ill since he started nursery in September! Wee man can’t catch a break 😩

aww 😭 its awful. I cried my eyes out on a few occasions. You feel helpless. It can make their throat sore too so maybe thats why hes not eating. I just gave him yoghurts & colder stuff until he was ready to eat again. He will be ok in a day or two 💖
