So my bump wasn't growing properly from my 30 week appointment. I already have a toddler who was also SGA baby so I was under monitoring anyways hit we've started having earlier growth scans due to no progress of bump. We've had 2 now and at 33+6 yesterday baby showed his femur had risen again and his tummy had grown and he put on nearly a whole pound in 2 weeks,1oz off. Placenta and Umbilcal cord is all working and doing as it should for now so they're Is no other medical reason for him being small bar my baby being small right now but they have to keep an eye(I am petite and 5ft2)
My worry is after yesterday's consultant led appointment, we discussed ins and out and they want to try keep baby in till 37 weeks if they can and baby keeps following his lines and growing still and placenta and umbilical cord doesn't show impaction. They've basically said by 37 weeks they will want to induce, I'm worried about this due to they've dated me due as 10th Dec, I conceived on the 19th or 20th March which realistically as I know I definetly conceived then doesn't this make baby 32 week in reality? Where as they are measuring me as 34weeks from LMP. Even on the scans he's measuring 32 weeks so should they not consider I am actually 32 weeks gestation not 34 as conception dates are 100% known. Or am I missing something? I just can't make sense of this am I wrong in thinking I should be backdated and a induction would be risky as really baby could be 35 weeks not 37 weeks!?

I had an IVF transfer / conceived in early April and I’m 32 weeks today. Have you added on the two weeks before ovulation?

I asked my midwife about this the other day. They date from the baby's size at the 12 week scan instead of your last period date which is why the due date is often changed at that scan and that is what they go by. But as above, because they go from the 2 weeks before ovulation, you're always ahead of conception if that makes sense as I guess the egg is still present 🤷♀️

If baby is following their line, I would be questioning why, even if they're "small"

Even if you know your conception date you add two weeks on for the gestational date don't worry! I'm basically the same as you, conceived on 18th March and due 10th December and am 34 weeks ☺️

The pregnancy is dated from the date of your last menstrual period - it's not possible to know when the egg was fertilised. 😊 As for the induction, go with your instincts and take it a step at a time. If you're happy at 37 weeks you could tell them you want to hold on another week. Nobody can make you or allow you to do anything - the choice is all yours. x
