The leg rock technique

Who else uses the leg rock technique? For who doesn’t know what it is, you put a pillow on the bottom of your legs and you put the baby/toddler on it and you move your legs side to side and it puts them to sleep. It’s easier this way especially when they get heavy. I’m Eastern European and we use it there. I know indians use it as well. Comment if you do and where you are from or comment if you want to try. I highly recommend it!

I need a diagram 😅

@Asia or a video, I can't figure out what this means

@Asia https://youtu.be/vW9cXd8-ktk?si=yTrF5mUsqQvLejcR I got youu

@Kylie video ☝️

I have never seen or tried this but think I will when my baby girl arrives! Would be way easier than carrying and swaying the whole time.

My kid would just think we're playing a game 🤣

@Cenza my son is 1 and he wakes up a lot. It’s no way I would rock him in my arms. He is heavy 😭

My son is 21 months and weighs 27 lbs and I somehow manage to keep swaying with him but man it does get tiring after like 15-20 mins. I think my arms have gotten stronger as he’s gotten bigger 😂😂 my partner can’t hold him as long as I do either. #momstrength 😂🤷‍♀️ but this would be a lifesaver for my back!!

@Kylie considering your child is 1, then probably. I started when mine was 3-4 months. And it’s muuuch better because the legs are stronger than arms and your hands are free. But you should try.

I think I keep swaying with him because I didn’t know there was a better option lol!!

@Cenza honestly it’s life saving. The purpose of the post was to let others know of this easier technique because I’ve never heard people talk about it. I live in Uk, everyone rocks the children in the arms anf I’ve never heard americans say anything about leg rocking either. Sooo yeah. I highly recommend it

Okayy will be trying this. It took me 2 hours to get her to bed tonight.

I tried to rock her for a little while and she just giggled and kicked me 😂 She's never been rocked to sleep, though. She always just been fed to sleep.

@Drew haha, it’s actually a thing, but everything was invented/ made up, so there you go, if the person that came with this didn’t come with it, it would have been you, hahaha🤣🫶🏼🫶🏼

@Asia awww, bless you!! It might take a bit to adjust, but it’s worth it. Let me know how it goes

@Kylie hahaha. Well, that’s better. No effort included 🤣 I wish. Mine used to fall asleep while fed when he was a baby. He is 15 months now and I leg rock him

I wish I’d known this nearly two years ago 😂 wondering if it will work with my almost two year old

I used to do this with baby!

@Tanya you should try 😁

@Asia oh, I understand how hard it is. Try it so she gets used to this new method quick, because if they get older it’s gonna be harder. Sometimes even with this technique is hard to put them to sleep, but the pro is that you don’t get tired. Legs are stronger and you are sitting down/laying down almost, so it’s comfortable
