Glucose test should be illegal 💁🏾

Lol I opted to get the glucometer and check my levels 4x a day for two weeks instead of doing the drink because I was scared I was gonna throw up 😂 worth it in my opinion

I almost passed out when pregnant with my son. I'm not pregnant with my daughter, and you know I'm going with the glucose monitor instead. I can't forgo eating.

I opted out lol I did it for my first but it wasnt a fast test, just the 1 hour test. This time around ive been alot more nauseous and i started drinking the drink on my way to my midwifes and 🤮🤮. My midwife wasnt concerned luckily but its crazy that theres not another way to figure out if you have GD than drinking these nasty sugary things lol

there is another way! Just have to ask because they don’t make it the main option. I asked if there was anything else I could do because I was scared of puking and they ordered me a glucometer so I could test my sugar levels throughout the day for two weeks straight. Gives the same result, just takes a little longer

oh thats awesome! I didnt know! Ive heard you can eat like chocolate bars or skittles of the same sugar content lol I would have been down for that 😂

Just went through this I was thinking the same thing. I had to ask if I could lay down between blood draws I felt so crazy I passed the retake thankfully

Make sure you treat yourself to some food after cause it definitely takes a lot out of you trying to do the 3 hr test

You can opt out! I opted out and had to check my levels 4 times a day; I’ve had Bariatric surgery!

I’m sorry I’m confused as to why people are so against this test? It was a bummer for sure, and the sugary drink is bleh but it’s one day to figure out if you have a temporary condition that could pose health risks to your and your baby, especially if left undiagnosed. It was not an enjoyable experience but well worth it imo.
